NewsFutures introduces prediction markets at the World Economic Forum

NewsFutures CEO Dr. Emile Servan-Schreiber and Wisdom of Crowds author James Surowiecki helped launch the Global Risks Prediction Market at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum.

Surowiecki and Servan-Schreiber take on the Davos crowd.

In several workshops during the Forum’s three days of intense meetings, Servan-Schreiber and Surowiecki teamed up to introduce the world’s movers and shakers to the concepts of “crowd wisdom” and “prediction markets”, and their potential for assessing and mitigating risks of all kinds.

Servan-Schreiber explains prediction markets to Israel’s very wise Shimon Perez.

The Global Risks Prediction Market is an initiative of the World Economic Forum’s Global Risks Network. It’s purpose is to aggregate predictions to help mitigate the impact of globally disruptive events. Its traders are recruited from the Forum’s wide network.

Ever in search of wisdom, Servan-Schreiber schmoozes with Dalai Lama representative Matthieu Ricard.
